F110 officially discontinued

The Fathom line now officially starts with the F112.

Guess it wasn't a big seller obviously.

Gotta say, for the limited time I had f110v2 in my system, it transformed the small room I had. It is one of the few pieces I did not sell when I dismantled my system last year. Glad I held onto her. Collectors item! :)

Why did they discontinue the F110? Is there a big difference between the F110 and F112?

For music the F110 is a cracker. It's fast & compact and just adds that little bit extra bottom end to older recordings or those which were done on a Monday or Friday.

Well, I just experimented with an F112 since my post and in my room, with my equipment I prefer the F112 over two F110s. It wasn't a direct comparison, but based on my memory when I had dual F110s. I only have one F110 and to my ears it's easy to hear the difference between it and the F112.

Attachment 49909Not only does the F112 v2 sound better, I submit it looks better and more appropriate with my system.
