Arc sp14

I just picked up a SP14 that has been updated at ARC, and it is the Black Face version. Any thought on this model?

Cyril,
Thanks for the link, A very interesting read. I have wanted to explore ARC equipment for quite a while, And eagerly await the SP14's arrival and inclusion in my system. Regards, Jim |
Jim...congrats on your new SP14  Let us know what you think about it. I am only familiar with ARC's newer gear (from last 5-6 years) which tends to be much more neutral but i would be very interested to get your thoughts on the SP14 once it has had some time to log in some hours in your system.

I heard one recently compared to an LS 25 MK2 I had before upgrading myself, and was impressed. You should have lots of fun.

I've no experience with it but I've always had a lot of respect for ARC and the ARC units I've heard were superb. This one looks very nice indeed!

Well It is now in house, and I'm very pleased with the upgrade in my system. The bass has more definition and the whole presentation seems more effortless and in control. Great sound stage and imaging as well. Very impressive!

Jim.......Good score. The Audio Research SP14 is a nice hybred/tube preamplifier. Your's looks super clean, although I have always prefered ARC in silver. I like the contrast of the logo and the area where the switches are located.

The improvement in my system is more than just noticable. I'm anxious to get the main system back together once I get my Behringer DCX 2496 back from being modified by Engler Electronics. Happy Holidays, Jim |
