Built wooden hot tub
Showing off here.
My wife and I spent the last three days building this hot tub from a kit at our ski house in Vermont. It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun and the results are extremely satisfying. We had a 30 y/o tub in the same spot that reached the end of it's life and had to be gutted out. This meant we already had all the plumbing, pumps, controls, etc., so we really only had to build the tub and plumb in the jets and drains and connect to the existing system. My wife is especially pleased as she was a big part of the project and had never done anything like it. Next step is to replace the old deck. That will wait until Spring. http://www.audioaficionado.org/membe...7-img-0328.jpg http://www.audioaficionado.org/membe...8-img-0331.jpg http://www.audioaficionado.org/membe...9-img-0333.jpg http://www.audioaficionado.org/membe...0-img-0341.jpg John |

John Looks like you and you wife have been having fun! I just took my old one down this fall. We plan to replace it next Spring. We love going out to the tub when the snow is really flying. Doesn't get much better. Enjoy yourself!

Any skiing yet? Where in VT? I spent a lot of time at Stowe and Mad River growing up; less time at Killington. Still waiting for more snow at Tahoe. But I did ski most thanksgivings at Killington. Darn, could it get cold.

Looks awesome!

Nothing like a hot soak when snowing or super cold outside. Very nice.

Got tunes out there?

Thanks all. There's no doubt that being in the hot tub when it is 100 degrees warmer then the air, with the stars overhead, is magical. We go in every day we're there in the winter - sometimes with hats on.
Freestone - we're in Stowe. Have been going there for over 25 years. Had very respectable skiing over Thanksgiving - for November. The modern snow making is fantastic, plus about a foot of natural over the previous week. Not a bad start to the season. Ivan - no tunes by the tub. We're never in the tub for more than 15 minutes or so since we keep it pretty hot. The house gets all my hand-me-down gear, which isn't bad. John |
Jr that looks great.

You could age a lot of bourbon in that tub.:roflmao:
