Good review!
Thank you for posting.
Dic is continuing to design some of the finest transducers in the world.

We listened to them at RMAF in the Ayre Acoustics room.....I really liked them, they were very smooth, extended and non-fatiguing. I really wish we had spent more time with them but had to move on. I think they would be outstanding in a small to medium size room where you would prefer floorstanders to bookshelves.

I thought they were good but I could detect a tiny bit of directionality they seemed to add, unlike either the Oval or Giya series.

Still outstanding, but the first real flaw I've heard in Vivids, and it might have been material-dependent.

Maybe due to a more narrow dispersion?
I am going to audition them in a few weeks, because I need some speakers to replace some Oval 1.5 in my small office. I am also considering Giya G4 and B1D.

The B1D & the G4 are both excellent choices.
I compared them in an afternoon session once, and preferred the G4.
Clearer and more accurate.

When I listened to some music I could "hear the driver" on the Kaya 45 where I never could on Giyas or Ovals.

That shouldn't be the case since it's the same driver, so it must be something enclosure-related.

That doesn’t sound too promising. The Kaya 45 is quite less money than the Giya G4, so I had hoped it was an overachiever. Oh well, I guess there is a limit to everything after all.
