Serge, I didn’t mean to imply that I thought the prices were too high for the value, only that I hadn’t expected them to be at that level for a Jeep. It was a matter of brand perception on my part. I have a brand expectation that a Marantz or Denon component will be priced significantly lower than a D’Agostino component. I also had an expectation that a Jeep (or Chrysler product in general) would be a lower price than an MB. Of course the reverse is true, when I bought my MB I was surprised the price wasn’t higher.

My comment wasn't about the Jeep, I agree that $60k for a Wrangler seems way too steep. It was about how we perceive value as audiophiles and our audio toys. :D |
