Some delay on the future Sportier C-8'a
I saw this article in The Detroit News. Looks like the vrirus has impacted timing on the launch of the future sportier versions of the Corvette C-8.
How about the 1000hp in the "Zora". https://www.detroitnews.com/story/op...ys/2998173001/ |
Doesn't seem to have impacted their getting the C-8 to be competitive in IMSA GTLM. Quick study (weather notwithstanding).

Another 1-2 win for Corvette Racing. Seems the new C8 handles well in the rain.
|
Plus, it helps to know when to get lucky on tires. I'm guessing there may be some weight added to the C8.R before long. Another 1-2 & won't be surprised if they get heavier.

Hmm, they weren’t faster per say. They had better strategy and ultimately - better decisions from the drivers
|
However, 3x 1st in a row, with the last two being 1-2 is likely drawing much attention. I'm OK (very much so) with that, but am guessing BMW & Porsche are not. Porsche created their own woes at Road America, but "parity" is the hallmark of IMSA racing. Sure wish this virus thing would get solved. Would very much like to get out and watch the C8.R live.

1st & 4th at VIR. Only 4 cars on lead lap at finish and only 20 competitors. Sign of the times, would guess.
Most impressive run was the BMW GT6 finishing 5th. |
It’s been quite a run for the C8.R since they started the revised season. I thought I read there were some BOP changes made going into VIR. Didn’t seem to help the Porsche or BMW teams.
There was still some great racing. Crossing my fingers and looking forward to going back to Daytona for the 24 hrs in Jan 2021. But I suspect it will be without spectators. |
Boy has this thread gone off topic.

Seriously?
