SA7S1 external clock..

Has anyone bothered to try one? I just aquired my cdp & I love it. I am just curious if anyone may have any experience with any standalone clocks such as the Grimm Audio CC1. The review from HI-FI world ( 5/09) gave it 5 globes-tested on a SA7S1.

I would like to try one too. I've heard the Esoteric clock with their DV60 and it was a noteable improvement. DCS also has an external clock.

I was going to try one of the Grimm Audio CC1 clocks, but the dealer ( who had sold me my SA-7S1 ) then stopped carrying them and so I never did. There was a clock reviewed on TNT-Audio sometime ago, but I cannot remember the details. Sorry...

I was interested in this combination, SA 7S1 and CC1. There is someone over at the AudioShark forum who has tried it and liked it. Problem in the US is there is no distribution for the CC1 as it is now apparently out of production according to their North American importer. The CC1 appeared to be geared to pro audio and mastering facilities and didn't seem targeted at home audio. There are still some units in Europe (Netherlands) would cost around $2k. I could get the contact if anyone's interested.

I don't have SA7S1, but a SA11S2..

I added Apogee Big Ben Clock.. Huge difference, definitely worth the money as they can be had for so cheap these days..

Hard to explain the practical difference, but everything snaps into focus more and the multilple clock frequency can be used to tailor the sound...

I see several available used on eBay in the $600 to $700 range, new it's still ~$1,500.
