Not sure what you mean by "slow down" theft? If you want to "slow" him/her down a baseball bat to the knee would do it. :D

Joking aside (not really a joking matter :sigh:) My preferred method is a bio-metric/fast access safes in a few key areas around the house for handguns and a large safe for the long guns. Or you can always carry a handgun on yourself, even at home if that is an option.

Sorry to hear you are in need of such tactics. :sigh:

IMO, if you have the budget a nice plate steel safe is a good investment. Graffunder makes a nice product but they have got pricey over the years. I believe you can choose whatever type of lock type. They are also very heavy.

Brown makes great safes. Very high end. If you just want to slow them down or create a deterrent, the biometric safes that hold a handgun are great.

Graffunder are great safes. I have a friend that upgraded from a graffunder to a larger model and the store offered him what he paid for the smaller model on trade. So, they hold their value. Ultimately a hidden room makes the most sense The guns in my bedroom and kitchen are not locked up.

One of 5 gun safes that I have. This is a Liberty, weighs in at 1200lbs and is lag bolted to the foundation.

I think this is the best deterrent. We obviously don’t encourage or allow our Black Russian to jump up like this, but it gives you a sense of size. I am certain he would slow down any meth head that is dumb enough to come in the house univited. Although, I’m not sure I’d invite a meth head into the house, but none the less.
