Moving Up The Pass Line
I became a Pass Labs owner for the first time a few months ago. I now have 2 systems powered by Pass. One has a 250.8 and XP-22 while the other has an INT-60.
I am looking to move up from the INT-60 into separates. As of now, I am leaning towards either the 100.8 or 260.8 monoblocks that will be pair with a Pass preamp also. The speakers will most like be Dynaudio Condfidence 20. The have an efficiency of 87 dB. Can anyone describe the differences in sound between the 2 amps? I am looking for a bit more warmth and liquidity as opposed to extracting every last detail. I had also thought about the 60.8, but I have concerns that I would have to push them too hard at times. Since you have the 250.8 stereo amp, I can compare it to the 260.8 monoblocs. I've owned both in my system. The sound is very similar, but the 260.8's are even smoother, they operate in Class A higher than the 250.8, and better dimensionality with wider, deeper soundstage. I was using the XP22 for both. Again not night and day differences, but worth the extra price in my system.
