I have the Audioengine A5+ and I'm trying to squeeze better sound out of them. Is the Modi 2 a good fit? Would the magni 2 or Vali 2 add both headphone capability and offer an additional volume control for the audioengine A5+ speakers?

Also from the descriptions of Modi2, uber, and multibit descriptions make no sense at all. Do they actually improve sound quality? or do they just offer more outputs for different things?

If you want a USB DAC which is probably much better than your soundcard, preamp-outs to drive speakers and listen to headphones, you would want Jotunheim. I'd go with a balanced DAC option as well. It's a very complete solution me thinks.
