Posting an Image with VBBS

I got a PM about how to post external images or images with links. I figured I would just post more info for everyone. I took a few screenshots with MediaFire express that should clear things up for anyone who needs it.

You can upload images to any number of services like Photobucket or MediaFire. You can also attach images, but I think you need to be an aficionado? (Can anyone confirm)

I uploaded the pictures above using MediaFire express, a free tool for quickly uploading files.

With the MediaFire embed code, by default, it links to a full version of the image (and shows other images in the folder/gallery)

When you get a link, click the view link so you can get to the sharing options.

If anything isnt clear, let me know and I'll update this.

Alternatively, if you dont want to install a desktop tool, you can upload an image to a web service through the web interface, like Photobucket, MediaFire, Imgur etc. On MediaFire, you can just create a folder and drag and drop the image into the web browser.

Derek,

Thank you soooooooo much for taking the time to post this. Awesome visuals. Even I can understand ;)

I'll have to check out mediafire. It looks really nice. Photobucket is VERY slow for me and a PIA.

There is also sites that are dedicated JUST for images that offer similar codes but i'm not going to take the time to detail them. Imgur.com is very popular, as is Imageshack.com and photobucket.

Imageshack is actually founded by Google employee #25 or so, Jack Levin, it works pretty well but they dont focus much on the UI.

The image specific sites do have the benefit of less overall features making it easier navigate (but you do get ad's)

Anyone who does end up using the free MediaFire, please let me know and I'll upgrade you to the professional level.

By far, the easiest way to share images is by attaching them to VBBS. Here's how you can do that, you need to be a Subscriber to use this.

Here's the easy steps.

Derek... I attach images as you have described in your last post... but why are they represented in my post only as thumbnails and not a full image (or do you need higher levels of membership for that)?
