Vancouver, BC

Wife and I will be traveling there in June for a break. Will travel a day and night to Whislter. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel near downtown / Stanley Park area? Would like to be able to walk to most places from where we stay.

The Lord Stanley Hotel is a beautiful Hotel and area...............Spectacular harbour, park and mountain views
Downtown Vancouver, close to English Bay Beach, Coal Harbour Seawall and park, and bike rentals

Located next to Stanley Park, home of the Vancouver Aquarium, Lost Lagoon, the Seawall, trails, beaches, tennis courts and more

Shopping, grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance
Short and long term stays welcome

Yes, Lord Stanley is a great spot. Also along the harbor and within walking distance are the Fairmont Pacific Rim, the Pan-Pacific, and the Westin Bayshore.

It’s also a beautiful drive up to Whistler, and there is some great hiking there. You can easily send a day or two there in the summer.

I agree 100%. I stayed at The Lord Stanley in the past and it was a clean/fresh cherry hotel and very convient to everything we wanted to see/do.

GREAT TRIP - we stayed at the Marriot Pinnacle in Vancouver down by the Harbor and the Four Seasons in Whistler - wished we would have stayed in Whistler a few extra days. Took a day trip to Victoria, BC by ferry. Van City is one expensive city - second most expensive to live in next to Hong Kong. 1200 sq ft bungalows selling for $1.5M CAD.

I have a friend in Richmond, just south of Vancouver, whose 1970s 3,000 sq ft split-level on 1/4 acre is valued at $2.5-3 million. He’s thought about selling and retiring early - the only problem is it would cost him too much to buy another home unless he moves away.
