Keke is one year old

It has been nearly a year since a tiny little abandoned kitty showed up under Malrene's shed. That was last August, and we estimated the little kitty was about five to six weeks old, most likely born in mid July of 2017. The poor little thing was bone skinny and could barely meow when I finally got it to come out from under the shed. Marlene immediately fell in love with it, named it Keke, and has cared for it ever since. Keke is now one year old and has grown into a handsome cat. He has quite the personality, and has become a good hunter. He can catch lizards without even trying, and has caught several field mice around Gus's feed room where we store hay.

Here is a photo of Keke this morning laying in the shade by one of our fountains.

Quite a handsome fellow, and obviously well cared for.

He's a beautiful looking cat and it sounds like he's showing his appreciation for his new home and owners by being such a good hunter:thumbsup:

Jerome.......Keke and Gus have become good friends. Keke will rub against Gus's front legs and let Gus nuzzle him with his big nose. Keke will bat Gus's face with his paws. Gus loves the attention. They actually play together until Keke gets bored and wanders back through the fence where Gus can't go. It is heartwarming to watch the interaction between such large and small animals.

Keke loves to hide in loose hay in the feed room. Here he is thinking he's hiding from Gus, but he's not fooling Gus one bit. They have become real pals.

Here's Keke last year when he first began learning his tree climbing technique.

Dan....
Yes. Friendship between animals that are so different is really something.
You and Marlene are lucky to have them. And the reverse is true also of course !

Any chance of a picture of Keke in your lap, Dan?
