My basement area is 3000 square feet.

Oh... I guess I had one of those "mental block" moments. :D Mine is going to be slightly under at 2.7k.

I hope there is room for a substantial wine cellar in there... even a 30x30 room is only 900sqft!

A great website to go to is cellartracker.com you can find great recommendations for pairing food with wine, find reviews and pricing. If you sign up you can keep your entire wine inventory on it and print out bar code labels for locating your wine.
