Good lord. What does that thing weigh?

joey_v 11-08-2017 04:14 PM

Yikes.

PHC1 11-08-2017 04:59 PM

For that price, the display should read 110% pure! :smoking:

Ivan, what sets ps audio power distributors apart from other brands such as shunyata or torus?

Completely different architecture; PS Audio models are full AC regenerators.

Lol! I'd settle for 100%. But 99.9%? That's pathetic :)

PS Audio P20 in Bound

If it showed 110%, it would cost $11,000... seems it is $100 per % point! ;)

brodricj 11-09-2017 08:07 AM

I've told them what I think of those handles on the front of it....

SCAudiophile 11-09-2017 08:43 AM

This is not on their website as of today,...what is the feature set vs the P10 which cites 100% regen'ed power. The P10 is a 15amp unit. Is the P20 20amp?

LOL....they should follow that pricing on Speakers,...anything not 100db efficient should be price reduced by the delta !!!! Some famous big price models could be in trouble [emoji4] [emoji4] [emoji4] [emoji4]!

No doubt, massive.

At RMAF it was the same width as the P10, not sure about depth and taller with weight around 100 lbs.

rns 11-09-2017 10:10 AM

Opens the question: At the same exact price point is it better to have two P10's?

They would take up more space in the rack, but give a total of 20 outlets and 30 amps.

You need 2 separate circuits.....cannot put 2 15s like this on a single 15 or 20amp circuit I would think....ground planes would need to be absolutely identical as well or interesting diffs could occur in noise floor for various components depending upon which regen they were plugged into. Probably better given hoped for regen engine additional capabilities in the P20 and the P20 appears to be a 20amp unit. FWIW....

A bit of comparing apples and oranges, but I wonder how this influences the sound compared to Shunyata's Triton v3. Please post impressions Ivan.

+1.
Very interested.

I was surprised to see how little current my system draws at normal listening levels, less than 2a. I have thought about two P10's ( for amp & front-end). In my case my 15a dedicated circuit would be adequate.

antipop 11-10-2017 07:32 AM

Holy F**** that's a serious looking machine. Can't wait to get your feedback

Some details shared by Paul McGowan:
Quote:

The P20 has the following improvements over the mighty P10:
Three times the energy storage
Three times lower output impedance
Twice the number of output devices
Half the distortion
Nearly 40% more power
Clear and unquestionable improvement in sound quality

From my understanding it has both options, 15 and 20 with a sliding mechanical cover revealing this along with a switch to select either or.

What I️ don’t know is the gain you achieve if you select 15 amp, does it make it equal to the P10 in terms of power?

Thanks...good question! The other question is whether or not this is the P10 regen engine in a bigger package with more fancy display and different case with handles or if they did make some key changes to the regen engine.

Mark... it is a completely new design, from ground up. 100 lbs of the latest technology. ;)

After a slight delay, my P20 shipped to me today. :)

Will one p20 replace two p10s?

For starters, the packaging is much better; double boxed, and encased in foam. The P20 has handles in the front and the back; very good looking, and functional.

It does look much better in person also.
