Any experience with the new Bryston cubed 14B3 with 802D3?
I have been contemplating upgrading my amplifier which is a Classe Delta CA2300 rated at 300 watts per channel and was looking at the new Bryston 14B3 which is rated at 600 into 8 ohms.
I have had the previous version 4BSST in my system and did not feel it sounded as smooth as my Classe. I have read many positive reviews on the new cubed series however I am very hesitant just purchasing as the dealer does not have one for audition at home. I have also been looking at the McIntosh MC452. It is not that I am unhappy with my Classe but have quite a large room and at times I really like to crank up the system and feel more power might benefit me and I am sure the 802D3's could handle the power. |
Why not just the 601?

I am looking only for a unit in one chassis that fits in my current audio set up. So for me it must be a two channel set up.
That is why I referenced the MC452, however the Bryston 14B3 will generate substantially more power than the MC452 and based on the specs should be quieter as well. |
I am also considering both amps so curious if anyone responds. Currently using a Classé 2300 with 893d3’s.

Sorry... meant 803D3’s

Who makes 893D3's? That is not a B&W speaker that I am aware of. |
Bwguy... Welcome to AA!

I have the 803D3’s.
I too am a little reluctant to go with Bryston as I have always heard they were a little bright. However, everything I read about the new series say the brightness is gone and sound smooth and natural. I was really considering the Macintosh 601’s but now not sure which way to go. I have no way to A/B them as they are sold by different dealers. |
601's sound very nice.

I would imagine there are better things to do to upgrade and spend this amount of money other than replacing one excellent amplifier for another excellent amplifier
