IB2SE Demo
Visited a very nice PMC Dealer in Germany today where we listened to the IB2SE. Our host was Klauss of AudioConcepts, he makes a mean cappuccino as well. :)
The house he uses to run his business is in a small village, over 300 years old, and is located right next to a church. The IB2SE were brand new with less then 20 hours on them. As we listened they did start to open up a bit but in the end we were less then impressed with these speakers especially in the lower region compared to our EB1i's. After 200 hours we might have thought differently. The mid-range on the IB2SE were already displaying the resolution that we expect from PMC. Klauss will have a pair of MB2SEs in a couple weeks that have been on loan to another dealer. He will be bringing them to my house for a 3-4 day demo. :) More to follow............. |
Rob.......PMC MB2SE home demo? Uh Oh! :D

As June and I listened to our EB1is running through our MX150 and MC207 in pure stereo mode we looked at each other and smiled, "this sounds better." Then we both agreed that the IB2SE sounded, "Flat." On a lighter side, the IB2SE were the Rich Macassar finish and they definitely look better in person then in any photo I have seen.

Rob.......I want to believe the IB2SE simply was not broke in yet. On the other hand, the EB1i is a remarkable speaker and is tough to outperform under $30K in my opinion.

My PMC IB2 SE speakers also sound flat, flat out wonderful.

After some highend speakers, 2 months ago I bought
the PMC MB2SE. My equipments are MC Intosh C50 and 601 Esoteric K01 and cables Kubala Sosna. Al I can say is WOW. After abought 100 hours the sound is full and fantastic. Can't stop to listen to the music. Greetings from Switzerland Sergio |

Once broken in I am sure we would feel the same way. :) |

By no means am I trying to sound negative about the IB2SE, I can only convey what we observed.
