Diapason Italia

Hi all,

Noticed that other than 1-2 members, no-body has/had mentioned speakers from the Italian brand Diapason. You know, the legendary one based in Brescia and led by Alessandro Schiavi.

Was wondering whether any of you have had any experience with the models Asteras (OMG the looks!) or the Adamantes mark III (supposed to be very good too)?

Cheers

Looks like great stuff. Yet another reason to go to Munich for the show.

Diapason speakers have historically had very limited distribution in the US, but recently they aligned with Fidelis Music Systems in New Hampshire as their new distributor. Fidelis has an excellent reputation in the industry and handles several other fine audio lines so I expect Diapason speakers will increase their US market presence.

I auditioned these speakers at Fidelis last month. Very impressive sound and build quality. They were not outlandishly expensive either.

Thanks gents, started auditioning the Asteras (wow) and will have a got at the Adamantes mkIII hopefully next week. Looking promising!

Something like US$ 10k stands included?

I listened to the Adamantes and the Astera's at Fidelis as well. Absolutely stunning looks. Warm, smooth non-fatiguing sound. I did prefer the Harbeth Monitor 30.1 and SHL5 plus over them though. Please don't take it to mean I think they are too smooth. I just preferred the Harbeth's sound, I liked what they did better overall in comparison. If I remember correctly all the demo's I did were using the Pass Labs INT-60 integrated amplifier.

Hi salmtpa,

Many thanks for your input! Yes I might be looking for a little less clinical, a bit warmer if possible. Amp is a McIntosh MA-6600 integrated.
