Another G-02x finds a home

I said I wasn't going to do this, but after what I heard at RMAF and Ivan making it so easy, I buckled. I bought a G-02x.

I believe they showed a G-01x at RMAF, but I could clearly hear the difference when running it into a K-01x vs. using the stock clock. The K-01x has a clock accurate to .5ppm (same as K1, BTW) and the G-02x is accurate to .01ppm. That's quite a bit of improvement. G-01x is actually much more accurate, but I am hoping that I can still hear the improvement from the G-02x.

Thanks Ivan!

Marc... Congrats! ;)

FYI, in case anyone is interested, the rubidium clock in the G-01x is accurate to 0.00005 ppm! Just crazy.

I hope the G-02x gives similar benefits without breaking the bank.

Does anyone with a G-02x have any thoughts on what I'm in for?

Yup, I do with my D-02X; it adds width and depth to the sound stage ie: more 3D soundstage.

Marc.......There is no doubt you will be able to hear an improvement with the G-02X clock. The 0.5ppm voltage controlled crystal oscillator clock in the K-01X is quite adequate or Esoteric would not be using it in the K-03, K-01, K-03X, K-01X, and K1 DAC/players. Owner testimonies clearly reflect that the performance of these players is very good. None the less, the 0.01ppm accuracy of the Esoteric G-02X clock is an order of magnitude more accurate than the stock clocks. This level of timing accuracy lowers jitter to an even greater extent over the stock clock. Congratulations on the G-02X purchase. Looking forward to your comments once it is installed and the little blue clock LED is lit on your K-01X.

As like any good cable in your system, don't overlook a very good BNC clock cable (impedance appropriate for your unit).

Best Sir,

Bob

Congrats! What a great addition! Looking forward to your impressions on this unit. What cables will you be using ?

Getting a WW Silver Starlight BNC to go with it.

You may wish to think about a Shunyata Clock75 Alpha or Sigma as a great alternative!
