Will McIntosh ever build another peamp without a DAC feature?

They just did, the C70.

I would bet their research indicates they would lose 70% of their sales with pre's without a DAC. DAC's are like tone controls, don;t use it if you don't want to. It is nice they are using modules now.

So I suspect the D1200 will be coming out soon.

I was thinking same thing. My guess is 6-12 months it will be here.

Do we know a price yet? (for the C2700)

Thinking about it and the D1100 might have too many digital inputs for a module unless they make major changes

I would not expect the small DAC module to sonically compare to the discreet components of the D1100.
I also prefer my preamp without the RFI of a high performance DAC inside (I am not trying to stir up this old argument, just MHO).
