Mike - regarding shipping Magnepan speakers I'm not sure where you're located, but I understand that in the US 'Old Dominion Freight Line Inc.' offers a special rate. An example that I was given shows that shipping one way from WV to MN with $6,000 insurance would normally be $496 but that was discounted to $226. You just have to request the "Magnepan shipping rate" and specify shipping class 100. I haven't done it myself but hope that some owners considering the upgrade may find this information beneficial.
