SLI-80 Sig Integrated Amp
Just pulled the trigger on an SLI-80 Sig integrated in black. Should have by next week. Listened to my friend's SLI-70 quite a bit 15yr ago with a large pair of floor-standing Thiels (3.6?). Excellent sound, so am looking forward to see how it works with my JA speakers. Purchased used, so definitely made in the good old USA.

Good amp, will require tube rolling.
1 my fellow used it about 2 years with Davis Acoustic Caesar. |

Pretty !
Mine is in Jaguar blue with a black face plate. |
Thanks, Dan. That's it.
Trying to decide on which set of 6550s I'll add. Might go for the Tung-Sol 6L6 if I can get a proper bias setting. |
Mine came with KT-88s.
Two power tubes that worked quite well with it are the re-issue Genalex and the Shuguang Black Treasures. There is only one bias pot per channel, so you must use closely matched pairs. |
Am going to order a set of new tubes and am wondering if anyone has rolled any of the tubes other than power? I'm thinking JAN Sylvania for the 6922, 6SN7 & 5U4 tubes. I thought very highly of the JAN Sylvania tubes in a BAT VK-30 preamp I once had and also as 12AX7s in my McIntosh tube amps. Might save $50 and go with the new Tung-Sol reissue for the 6SN7, as their reissue 12AX7 was nice, as are their 6550s and 6L6Gs.

GL reissue 6922 worked well for me except a very long burn in time, approximately 50 hours. I had some problems with flashing rectifiers. The Cetron 5R4 potato mashers were the only rectifiers that were ok. I was running through EH 5U4s at an alarming rate. For 6SN7s, I used JAN Sylvanias.
