For anyone with a first-class LP playback system and phono preamp, I think the best and most cost-effective results are achieved by using your preamp's tape out to something like the Alesis or Korg recorders.

Yeah, the whole setup has been really easy, inexpensive and does exactly what it needs to do. There may be better AD converters out there than the NAD PP4, but for the basics it’s hard to beat.
