Oppo Quietly Shows Two New Players: the BDP-103 and BDP-105 Maybe it's USB input will work right from the start? :D |
Agree the new 105 looks like it has some nice to own features, but until the audio heads can get it in the systems, test the heck out of it to make sure it sounds as good or better than the 95, playes video fantastic too, then and only then after many of the folks I trust would I upgrade.
I like the 105 offers, but the sound of the current 85 is great $$$$ per performance. Hopefully the 105 will be as good or better. If better there are going to be many 95s in the used for sake market 1st 1/4 2013 :) |
The BDP-105's feature list is impressive, but I have no use for 4K scaling, two HDMI outputs, or more digital inputs. What does appeal to me is the fan-less operation, if in fact the BDP-105's final design supports it. Is it worth $1000 to me to loose the fan? At this time I'd have to say no. I am more interested in the DAC's and the analog output than anything else.

asindc.......This is a photo of the rear of the prototype Oppo BDP-105 shown at CEDIA 2012. I see optical, coaxial and USB inputs on the rear. I also do not see a fan. Interesting. I would like to hear more about the DAC's.

Here are the two new Oppo players. The BDP-105 is on top. Notice the new back-lighted eject button.
