Mike.......I am not specifically addressing the unusual stream of issues you experienced, and I have no clue why this happened to you. I have some thoughts, but since they are unsubstantiated I'll keep them to myself. I just had to stick a few pins in the Classe' doll.

Two years and still no update? I'm thinking a new Classe' model, maybe the CP-900 with the USB update, will make the CP-800 obsolete before the firmware for the CP-800 ever sees the light of day. :D

Say it isn't so. A crippled USB input and a dead Ethernet port on the Classe' CP-800 with no solution for over TWO years.

You're missing the point about the CP-800. Everything works as advertised and promised (unlike the 1100). With the 1100 I had to BUY another product just to use the product I already paid to use. I had to buy a USB to SPDIF converter. An unnecessary expense just to be able to use the product I already bought.

The CP-800 USB input works perfectly (unlike when I bought my 1100). The CP-800 plays 24/192 files - it just down converts them - which is fine and actually sounds great. The reason the fix is taking so long is because they are not only adding the 24/192, but they are adding three or four more features to the preamp. I won't pretend to defend a 2 year fix as being reasonable - it's not. It's completely unreasonable - but at least I didn't have to buy another product just to make it work. It works as advertised, sounds great and didn't cost an arm and a leg.

I'm not trying to fluff your feathers, just having some fun. Don't worry, that USB software and Ethernet fix will be here as soon as the ship arrives. It's a long trip from the other side of the world. :D

I do not get your logic at all. I believe you are just having fun. But I don't get the value... It's not funny and seems inconsistent with most of your posts, which I find very informative.

I have never selected McIntosh products so I don't comment on them... You seem to be obsessed with commenting on Classe. Either in this thread or your comments elsewhere on China production. I suggest you buy one and you may change your mind. Or it least you would have an informed opinion.

I own the Classe and it does exactly what it said it did when I bought it. It meets my needs and has never required repair and sounds very good. I can understand the user's dellima who bought it for 24/192 USB and is still waiting. I would not be happy either. To use this example to somehow say McIntosh is not as bad as... seems silly.

I can say the Classe SSP processors are the best I have heard. I have 2 and would highly recommend. Just my 2 cents. Respectfully...

enatai252.......I didn't realize the Classe' crowd was so thin skinned. There's no logic to get. I am just poking some fun at a couple issues that have come to light. It is not out of my character in the slightest to play around when an opportunity presents itself. I know the Classe' gang is as loyal to their line as the McIntosh gang. I don't want to crash anyone's party so l'll leave you folks in peace.

BTW, I'm not Jim. My name is Dan.

Dan

Thanks for clarifying...not thin-skinned...just providing some friendly feedback. You are welcome to stay at the party...its not my house and I am just a thankful guest.

Cheers

Is that an 802 Diamond in the bag? As long as B&W continue production of the 802 Diamonds where ever in the world that may be....there will always be Classe to back them up. :p

Mike

I see.but i read this old news since more than one year now.i am almost at the point to think cp-800 is "obsolete".i mean cp-800 was a great news when came out, now is well followed if not passed, by many new products in the market.why should i wait and for what?it sounds like the c-50 dilemma...

maybe it is a hardware upgrade and since i live in china i am screwed:cp-800 has not been introduced here because they need to have the CCC certificate to be imported and the classe' dealer would not be able to help me.this unfortunately applies to all the latest classe products. mcintosh is very well established here and they have CCC certificate for almost all their products...
