Clearaudio Turntable/Arm/Cartridge poll
What are your thoughts on this regarding Clearaudio products?
Thanks Bob |
The only Clearaudio product I own is a Clearaudio Discovery Cartridge - getting old now, but still sounds remarkably good (currently on a VPI arm)

Thanks fellow AA'ers -- the AA web site will be forwarded to CA in Erlangen this evening.
They will be surprised how fast, Ivan added a Clearaudio manufactuers forum up & running with excellent results in such a short period of time. The end result -- we're hopeful CA will become a contributor periodically to answer CA related questions/issues from AA members, etc. (another AA member benefit) Perfect. Thanks Corporal Bob |

Appreciate the take charge attitude with the email/link to Joe. Not asking a lot from either party; just periodically check in and provide input to questions/issues from AA members, etc. Again, Thanks Bob |
As for the poll...I am waiting for my Clearaudio order, a Performance DC with Talisman v2 cartridge. I have been told it should ship early to mid August, but that was after the mid to late July date slipped. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer now.

I didnt see it covered in the poll...I own a CA TT , a different companies arm and a different companies cartridge. And at this point I do not have any intention of upgrading - I havent heard anything that is significantly better!
|
The other option that should be in the poll is "I own a C.A. TT Arm combo and i will upgrade via Upgrade Kit. e.g Champion upgrade kit to Champion level 1 or Magnum.
|
have a concerto V2 on my Basis Vector arm
|
Know this is old but nothing for owning a cartridge alone. I have a CA DaVinci cartridge I enjoy immensely.
|
I have a Statement with a tri planner arm a Atlas on order

I'm new to the modern table game, as most of my tables are heavily modified vintage tables.
However I will take possession of a Clearaudio Solution Table with the upgraded Ceramic Bearing and thicker platter on Tuesday. It has the upgraded Ref motor and sports a Graham Robin arm with upgraded armboard as well. I'm very excited about this and can not wait to hear the results! Regards, Jim |

I have a Performance SE/Satisfy/Maestro V2 combo and think it delivers very good analog reproduction for the price. I have picked the 2nd option on the poll but may replace the CA by a better TT in the future (keeping a Stein Aventurin MC for that).

Waiting on this
Just ordered this with Universal 12" (putting a Lyra Etna on it) and Verify 9" (putting a Ortofon Mono).
Supposed to be here in 4 weeks - will post photos when setting it up. http://clearaudio.de/_assets/_produc...ster/front.jpg |
I traded in a 2003 Emotion, which was great, for a Performance DC, which is even better. It's been a few months and I haven't looked back for a second. It seems to me Clearaudio has been upping their game for some time. The refinement, fit and finish, and technical execution of the Performance reflects that, IMO. Magnetic platter suspension, magnetic bearings, and electronic speed control have been around for a long time, but never have I seen a table that brought them together in such an elegant, easy to use package.
Even my wife loves it. A custom cover protects it from the curiosity of our cats. |
