hi all, sorry to revive, just wanted to see if anyone else had first hand experience with the 101 since this was last posted. At this price range, several brands offer quite strong competition. Curious also to know if this is finally a class D offering worthy of consideration. I am able to audition Burmester's 082 integrated, but was wondering if the extra cost up from the 101 was warranted. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

101's is a great integrated amp for the price, but the 082's sounds better.

Hi, I can only comment upon the 082. It's brilliant. I changed it to move up to the 911mk3, which is not a fair comparison. In my view, the 082 paired with easy to moderate loads should work wonders

integrated amp's don't sounds better.they amplify the signal. thats it

I considered this amp. Unfortunately for the dealer, they agreed to remove the top cover. It is underwhelming, you're paying for the name Burmester. Many other products will meet or exceed this amp's build quality and performance for less money.

thanks Nero, do you mean integrateds specifically? would that not apply to a pre/power combo?

thanks Tdelahanty, presume you were referring to the 101? yes, they are indeed not as 'muscular' looking internally as their bigger counterparts

but you might also argue that you get more bang for buck from a bulky panerai than a slim patek phillipe, i think that with a lot of luxury related goods, a lot of what you pay for is in the design and execution of an idea as opposed to simply materials used, just a personal belief of course.
