Interesting how similar in appearance the 009s is to their original SR-4 'ear-speakers' of yore. Will guess that the appearance is pretty much where the similarity ends. Even the Senn HD-650 humbles the SRD-4, 5 & 6 in many areas.

Ivan - are the new Stax like the old in that they are driven from the speaker outputs off whatever amp is in your system?

I have no desire to listen to my LCD-XC's or Utopias right now. The combo is wonderful. I can't wait to try a BHSE with them.

Robert, you will be shocked how well these headphones scale with an amp like BHSE, Carbon, T2 and a great source.
