RSD is 21 April 2018 this year -- when I was following the release list it was small, but good golly, the list is quite long (not many interest me and some are by "pirate" companies jumping on the bandwagon day).

There are actually a few on there that might could have got me out of the house to go shopping this year, but I'll most likely skip the lines fighting the hipsters buying their vinyls and just pay the premium to the scalpers.

I'll probably go if nothing else is planned for that day. There are 4 RSD pledged stores in my area, may just head to one and stop by another on the way home.

It seems to get crazier and crazier here each year. I usually go the day after. A couple of the stores here get restocks (don't know how that works) days/weeks later, so there's almost always a chance I can get what I want, the list of which gets smaller and smaller each year. And worst case if you wait 6 months, new copies will still be on EBay at close to retail prices vs the jacked up prices.

I guess that kinda takes the fun out of the RSD experience, but I shop regularly at my local shops year round in any case.

Here’s a link for Michael Fremer’s Analog Planet brief writeup going over a few things being released for RSD. I’m pretty pumped about the 4 LP Allman Brothers set on vinyl....that looks like it would be a really nice set.
