Aurender and MQA
Day before yesterday Aurender released two software updates. One update was for the new Aurender A10. A major component of the update is new system software for the A10, enabling Full Decoder MQA file playback from the internal DAC, with MQA content status displayed on the A10's front panel. In addition, when used with the A10, the Conductor App will now display MQA file information. The A10 is a certified Full Decoder MQA DAC.
The other software update allows the Aurender Conductor App to show Tidal MQA Masters Albums. They can now be filtered from the Albums section. In addition, when playing Master Albums from Tidal, Aurender N100H, N10, and other servers now output those files at 16Bit/48kHz. The standard Tidal output for HiFi subscribers is 16Bit/44.1 for all other albums.
I downloaded the System Software Release 4.9.27 last night without issue to my Aurender N10 and now see the Masters tab when I select Tidal streaming on the Aurender Conductor App. The Masters MQA albums I played last night were all presented as 16/48 files and sounded quite good. The System Software Release 4.9.27 update also fixed an issue where DSD to PCM conversion was not working with an 88.2kHz sampling rate under certain conditions, improved DSD file playback, and improved the power on/off process.
