What is the biggest change between the Marten 3's and the Tenors? Have you ever used valve amps with the ceramic drivers.

The c3s disappear better than the tenors and the soundstage is deeper, wider and more layered. The bass is also deeper.
Since you've asked the question I've replaced all the solid state with valve monos and a valve preamp. To my ears at least it sounds way more more musical and natural with real texture although I've lost some bass. |
What an amazing setup! Can’t get my eyes off from this pair of C3s. Soooo nice.

Well we're on a few years now. Time to move up to the Coltrane Supreme 2's? :scratch2:

Hi pweg, I am trying to decide between the C3's and the Tenor 2's. I am particularly interested in your opinion because your room is a little smaller than my own (mine is 18 feet by 19 feet).
Since 2016/7, have you stuck with the C3s or changed them? If so, was it because of their relative size to your room? I've read the C3 owner's manual and it says to position speakers no less than 80cm from the wall behind the speaker. From your photo yours didn't look anything like that and mine would be about 50-60cm. Any thoughts would Be very much appreciated. Thanks, Pelham |
