N10 can't play 256 DSD files
I purchased some 256 DSD files from Native and could not understand why I couldn't play them on my N10. I contacted the guys at Aurender to find out why and they sent me some test DSD 64 and 128 files that played fine. Then they sent me a copy of the N10 manual which shows that the N10 can only play up to 128. Boy did I feel stupid. Moral of the story, read the manual first.

Isn't that determined by external DAC? Don't understand why streamer/server restrict anything about that...

Good point! What’s a manual?
I suspect/hope the folks at Native will allow you to ‘downgrade’. |
I found the 256 DSD files won't load onto the N10. Since I can't load the 256 files onto the N10 I can't get them to my DACs to see if they will play this file size. I haven't read the DAC manuals either.

No idea really but I suspect it is a function of the file size and the shear amount of processing required by the streamer. |
Unfortunately, the N10 doesn't support DSD256 files.

Couldn’t you just place those files in a NAS and connect the NAS to the N10? The N10 would just be a bridge between the NAS and your DAC. |
nicoff, I did load my 256 DSD files to my NAS as I do with all my downloads and rips. Not sure how to get the files to my Esoteric K-01x or Berkeley DAC to play it then. Native did send me the 128 DSD files and they load and play perfectly.

R u sure the K01x will decode DSD256(11.2)??? I don’t think so...
