Vivid and Devialet SAM

Hi Viv-acious ones.

I have been enjoying my system a little more recently (relatively) thanks to installing the latest version of Audirvana. It's slightly less weighted to the midrange than the previous version but overall it's more transparent.

I have also been communicating with a local K1 owner and he has recently installed the SAM software upgrade for the K1 on his Devialet. Initial reports are very positive with bass that " shakes the house". Apparently the SAM for the B1 turns also turns it into a proper full range speaker 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz.

Has anyone else heard the SAM equalisation in person?

I am a little curious how it would sound at home on my B1s. With the old version of Audirvana I felt things were a little too tubey sounding (running a Conrad Johnson CT5 and LP70s with KT 120s). Right now though I would be concerned about a more solid state sound as it's sounding pretty sweet. Of course I should wait until my mid-bass issue discussed elsewhere is resolved (not far off now I understand) before drawing any conclusions.

Briz, there is a certain designer of loudspeakers using a Devialet on his speakers...

I thought a certain designer of loudspeakers used his own home made solid state beefy muscle amplification. Maybe he has moved on.

I guess he did, yes.
