088 With DAC module vs 089
 

I have a 088 with a DAC module and am considering adding 089 to use as DAC only. Someone said the the DAC module was developed at the same time as the 089 and the 2 DAC modules are the same and that I will not hear any improvement by adding a 089...

Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

some reviews stated the 088 dac module is as same sq as USD$5000 DAC.

In my opinion, I would purchase CDT (Esoteric P0s, CEC tl0x, Burmester 969, Metronome Calypso/Kalista ) rather than 089 because their digital out sq are much better.
