Hi I had the following combo for a couple of years - ARC LS26, Krell 2250 (not e) and Wilson Sophia 2.

It was a great sound but have since upgraded the LS26 to a Ref5SE and the Krell to a 302e. I still have the Sophias. I have never tried a Krell preamp although I originally used a 400xi integrated - but that was with Proac speakers.

I never regretted the switch to the tube preamp, and the ARC + Krell combo sounds great with the Wilsons in my opinion.

A final thought I found the improvement from the LS26 to a REF5SE to be a far bigger step-up than the swtcih from the 2250e to 302e. My advice would be to hold out for a Ref3 instead of LS26 if your budget can stretch that far.
