Ivan.......Were you able to see the Klaudio record cleaning machine in action? What was the noise level like? General impressions

Is this cheaper than the Ultrasonic cleaner that was the rage before?

Same RRP as the AudioDesk Systeme which I have & think is still all the rage. From what I've read, I wouldn't mind a Klaudio next to it though. ;)

One of the LP shops in Adelphi in Singapore had the Audiodesk and offered a cleaning service for a while but I remember the unit was out of commission a number of times and had to be shipped back to Germany for repairs. Seemed quite painful.

Yes, my earlier revision broke a spring at approx. 200 washes. Had to send it back to Germany. It was repaired & retrofitted, "made stronger" according to Reiner. At 1000+ washes, hasn't missed a beat since.

In his review on AnalogPlanet, Mickey Fremer called the Klaudio's construction, "high grade industrial." Paraphrasing, several other noteworthy comments are 1) using anything other than water voids the warranty, 2) you have to be a little more careful putting the record into the Klaudio machine, and 3) if you have an audio desk, you don't need to replace it with this.

I like that Klaudio is part of Koolance, a manufacturer of liquid cooling equipment company. I would like to think they utilized all the engineering resources of the parent company to produce a McIntosh build quality.

You can see all of their reviews on their homepage at Klaudio - Advanced Audio Technologies, LP Vinyl Phonograph Record Ultrasonic Cleaners

Ron....Thanks for the review reference. The Klaudio ultrasonic implementation does raise an interesting point of concern with respects to the possibility of vinyl surface pulverisation.

I can say this with certainty after using the AudioDesk Systeme after 1000+ cycles: Periodic checking & rinsing of the filter after each water/solution change does not show any heavy black sludge or black vinyl particulates!

My pleasure Steve. I think most in Denver are asleep now but we're in the same time zone, or at least close; it's 4pm here in Bangkok.

cheers,
ron
