Jeff Rowland

Anyone member here into Jeff Rowland?

I had my first exposure listening to their Class "D" amps, the 501's and was blown away instantly by their looks. None of the gears (SS) I come across had this kind of milling for their enclosures.

Listening thru the new MBL 111's (Jim, you got to see them, simply gorgeous), they sounded powerful, clear and displaying none of the traits I had read about on this kind of amps.

Jeff latest reference Class D (300 series) even have a built in DC conditioner. These are like triple the costs of the 501's.

For sure, I did learn something and that Jeff had a pair of Acapella Violons Mk III's (or is it High Violons MKIII's) during the year 2004 when he first designed these Class D 501's/201's amps.

Anyone care to share their experience with these little beauties but aka like the McIntosh MC501's power in delivery at 8 Ohms? Well, at 4 Ohms, its delivering 1000 watts per channel!!! :eek2:

Hi JSCC,

Iam a long time user of Rowland gear and need to said that your old line is very good compared even to the most modern amps of other brands.
I have a Model 8 and they sound are not easy to detect, avery good thing.

Long time model 8 user here too. My a'phile friends and I have Ab'ed numerous pieces of gear against the 8 over the years and it still holds up well.
IMHO, the 6,8 and 9 were some of Jeff's best work and even today will put most newer ss gear to shame. If there is an heirloom piece to be found in high-end, I think these pieces are as close as you can come.

I concur. We have the MC6 which is from the Model 8/9 era and it is great. A beautiful sound and immune to RFI and EMI compared to most everything else. His preamps are also outstanding and really show their stuff in a dense, noisy metropolitan environment.

It has been very quiet, who else is Jeff Rowland owners here?

I have been the proud owner of Aeris, Corus and 725 for 4 years now. So far I haven't seen any need to upgrade. It is beautiful amps.

I have the Jeff Rowland 625 S2 amp, Corus preamp, and Aeris DAC with Monitor Audio PL500 II's. It's absolutely the best "system " that I've ever had. I love my Rowland components.

I have 2 525 amps running in mono bi-amped to my Aerial Acoustic 20T. I have really enjoyed them. Build quality is some of the best I have seen. I have personnally met Jeff and his wife when he visited Boise the help install 2 625 and 2 525 to drive the 8 channels in B&W Nautilus speakers system. Jeff was fantastic to work with. In my own personnal experience he has gone above and beyond to insure customer satisfaction.

I've talked to Mr. Rowland several times when I had problems integrating 2 channel with my HT using the HT bypass on my Corus preamp. To say he was nice would be an understatement.

I had the integrated Continuum S2 for two years and it was a beauty - both to one's eyes and ears.
