Mixing Subwoofers - Yes? No?

Hi all,

I have been using a single JL Audio F113 V2 sub in my system for music for quite some time and been loving it.
I have an opportunity to buy a REL S/5 from a friend for a very low price and was wondering if I could use a pair of non-identical subs in the same system.

Thank you for your help.

Mono or left/right? If mono, I don’t see why since f113 is already powerful enough; if stereo, to me it’s like using two different speakers in a stereo system. So IMHO, no.
