I currently listen to TWO PAIR of JBL 250Ti speakers with a JBL B460 Sub. I am in Heaven on Earth! If the recording is good, it's as if I have the band in my listening room.

Man oh man...that is heaven! I have a B460 along with my L220's that have been with me since 1982. Love it/them!

Since last year: pair of Studio Monitors JBL 4429, powered by McIntosh MA7000. Don't need anything else...

Budgie - what height stands do you have your 4429s sitting on? Am guessing your MA7000 doesn't have any problem pushing the 4429s. Too bad you can't post a pic or two.

Excellent choices. Most are totally unaware of how good the new JBL Synthesis speakers sound. The 4429 can be purchased retail for $5k and has the same one-piece horn structure and same HF and MF divers as the much more expensive S3900 and S4700.

Long time JBL owner here. Owned a pair of 4430s for 15 plus years eventually selling them for a new pair of 4365s. Still own a pair of 4311s that sit in my basement packaged up. Can’t seem to part with them.

No, my MA7000 does not have any problems to handle them :nono:
The combination sounds great, stands in a small room, and I'm not a loud player. The self-made stands are 62 cm (24,5 inches) high, so the horns are on ear-height when I sit down on an ordinary chair. The only thing I would like to try, is a DAC between my Mac Mini and my amp. Would that improve things, if improvement on what I have is possible?

And perhaps the most important, if buying a DAC, which one?, as neutral as possible, cause I have not bought Studio Monitors to have them colored with alle kinds of 'nice sounding' devices.

Check out the digital forum. https://www.audioaficionado.org/forumdisplay.php?f=30
Sky's the limit on DACs and they change all the time. The Schiit Yggy is getting great reviews from owners here.
