Vintage Infinity

Last week I bought a pair of Infinity RSIII-bs, care of Deafbykhorns, and we are really enjoying them in our upstairs system. I am the original owner of a pair of RS4s, and continue to enjoy them.

The RSIIIs still sound great (vintage c. 1983), and I'm very impressed by the condition they're in as well as the tremendous job John did packing them for the trip from Jacksonville to Atlanta.

One other thing about this speaker is that when I look at it, it doesn't seem dated to me at all. It's still a beautiful speaker. If I looked at a 26-year-old speaker back in '83, I'd think it dated. I don't know if this is because I'm getting older or what, but Infinity did have a really good-looking lineup.

As I prepare to eliminate that old system, I will be getting rid of my Renissance 90's. I can't remember exactly why I bought them, though they sound pretty good with the Sumo Andromeda III.
Maybe this will help my memory.

:lamo: :lmao:

When I was a bit more agile I used to listen to my system on the floor. Can't remember why either.

Thirteen piece Universal Acoustics Basotech Bass Traps added to the room. You can't have too many :D
Difference to the soundstage is staggering and I thought it was good before :scratch2:
A bit difficult to see them in the pic as the traps are brilliant white on white walls. All upright corners in the room are now trapped. :)

Your room looks great and I bet it sounds better. Thanks for sharing.

Jim, thanks for bringing back that classic ad. No words are needed.
