Diagonal Wiring Setup?
 

I just discovered this last night. Nordost and Audioquest both recommend this method of connection.
Very, very interesting to me. I made the change according to the Nordost method and it makes a shocking difference.
No hyperbole here. It honestly snapped everything into focus and seems as if phase has been corrected somehow.
Not saying it effects the phase, but that is the type of difference it makes. The staging is much more in focus.

Google it and see. This may be common knowledge, but it was new to me. I just ordered some new Heimdall 2 interconnects and speaker cables, so I was perusing the Nordost website and came across this info.

If your speakers have a split crossover and have separate posts to to allow for bi-wiring, use a single wire setup with jumpers in this fashion. It truly makes a difference.

I've been using this diagonal jumper configuration on bi-wire capable speakers for many years, and also find it to be an improvement over the more common connection methods. I suspect that the significance of this configuration may differ depending upon the speaker being connected and the complexity of its crossover network, but it's easy enough as well as being free to try!

Would this be better as opposed to a bi-wire arrangement?

It really depends on the speaker. According to Sonus Faber, they only include the bi-wired option to satisfy certain markets.
They recommend single wiring with quality jumpers. B&W in my past experience can sound more spacious, but a little less tight in timing aspects when bi-wired.
I would absolutely try both methods and see what sounds best on your speakers.

I agree that this will likely vary depending upon the specific speaker, and the only way to know for sure is to try both ways in any given application.
