Installation complete

Pics will soon be posted. The installation lasted 3 hours and totally successful. It was quite complicated and stressful as I will explain when I post the pics. These Dragons (8) and Hurricane (1) pc's cost many thousands of dollars and minimizing their lengths makes a huge difference in cost. Also I wanted easy access to the rears of all power conditioners. (2) 5000's (1) 7000.

So it's finally done and pics will soon be posted below. To say that I am pleased as well as relieved is an understatement.

pics. The first two pics of the pc's are the HC Dragons. The two on the ends are 2M. The three in the middle are 1M. Next is the Niagara 7000; the (3) pc's on the extreme right are Dragon Source 1M.

more pics. The three pc's left to right are a Dragon Source (also seen in previous pic), a Hurricane (Watch Controller), both 1M and last a 2M Thunder (MR87 Tuner). Plug in's to rear of 7000 were somewhat difficult but I think you can see they fit in very well actually. Note the red Hurricane in midst of 3 Dragon Sources. Equipment rack from top to bottom: MVP551 DVD Player; MR87 Tuner; MCD1100 SACD Player; MVP881 Blue Ray Player; D1100 Digital Preamp; Niagra 7000 mounted so I have easy access to Standby/Engage Transfer Switch on its rear. The last pic I want to comment on is the final plug in's in the rear of 7000 (the last pic of this post) which include MR87 Tuner, Marantz LD player, computer, and back up DVD player (MVP551). Note that the HC bank is empty and the HC Dragon 1M energizing the Niagara 7000. All this was planned out to the nth degree. I was able to eliminate a massive amount of clutter in the rear of my cabinet. I have zero hum at 100% volume at all digital inputs however tuner input cannot be tested for obvious reason. I am pleased and relieved it all worked out perfectly.

When system is powered down it is put in Standby mode including 7000 as I have easy access to Transfer Switch on rear of 7000. The 5000's go automatically into Standby (as evidenced by a click) when amps are turned off but not the 7000. In addition, although it looks tight there is plenty of room to access front to turn the 7000 off/on if needed by pivoting the front a little and then pivoting it back. The power conditioners do not generate any heat. When system is powered up 5000's make a click as they are "Engaged" by turning on the amps. I manually depress the Transfer Switch to Engage 7000 (first thing I do takes about 5 seconds) then begin to turn on sources. I'm very pleased that my planning and attention to detail paid off. It was very tough. I almost went with a 1000 for my cabinet because I didn't know if it (my plan to turn the 7000 sideways; I wanted easy access to Transfer Switch and rear) would work in real life. But I really really wanted the 7000 for my sources and it actually worked! Amazing. I'll report on my sound later on.
