Looks like Thiel Audio is officially done.
I guess the writing has been on the wall for quite awhile since the passing of Jim Thiel, but this article, if accurate, says that it's pretty much official. What a sad ending to such a great high end brand with such a history. I still have good memories of my Thiel CS 2.4s......they were real giant killers when price was factored in. I'll always remember hearing the large 7.2s a long time ago as well. :tears:

Companies, like people come and go. I had only listened to a few Thiel speakers and for the most part thought they sounded pretty good and represented a especially good deal in the secondary market. I also really liked the "Gibson" starburst finish found on the CS3.7's

Unfortunately, I’m not surprised. Sad though.

At least the Thiel family was able to cash out before enterprise value dropped to zero.

A shame. But not unusual on family owned businesses that don’t prepare for the future.
Here’s a Peter Drucker article about family businesses... https://www.wsj.com/articles/SB10001...44260451524596 |

Does this work?

YES!
It did. Thank you very much. How did you do that? |
I converted it to a pdf file. Saved the file on google drive and then gave you permission to see it. Roundabout way, I know, but glad you could read it. That article is from 1994. It is a classic and still used as case study on many MBA programs around the world.

Very sad to read of Theil's demise. I had sort of figuted they'd be in for some tough sledding after Jim's passing, but to sell out to investors who had zero experience in audio or technology was sort of suicide.

Their *NEW* products were nothing close to what made Thiel special. I always wanted a set of CS3.7. But I'd only seen them in 2 places a dealer in Cincinnati and at CES. The time I saw them at CES it was the Bryston booth that had them hooked to their Amps.:tears: |

Maybe the few we do see on the secondhand market will come down in price since there isn't a place to get parts or service anymore. |

Is there any support for owners going forward or are they totally out of luck once something goes south? - Buck |

The guy who used to run Thiel’s service department has bought over the rights to service the Classic Thiel speakers - is not the PSB speakers masquerading as Thiels.
So good news. He’s also working on special edition upgrades to the Classic speakers. Might be interesting. |
