Oknotok

I'm just spinning my copy of OKNOTOK -- 2017 3LP remastering & reissue of Radiohead's seminal 1997 album OK Computer.

I am completely blown away by this release, it sounds incredible. This is a fantastic remastering, and the pressing on 180gm vinyl is absolutely perfect. I bought this album on CD the day it was released, but have not listened to it in quite a while. I am so moved by this music, this is one of my favorite albums and it sounds stunning.

This album made #3 on rolling stone's 100 Best Albums of the Nineties.

Quote:

Progress is a bitch, but don't let the machines, or their masters, grind you down: That is the simple message encoded in the art-rock razzle-dazzle of OK Computer. Hailed as The Dark Side of the Moon for the Information Age, Computer is too brittle in its time-signature twists and hairpin guitar turns, too claustrophobic in mood, to qualify as space rock. Instead, Radiohead shatter the soul-sucking echo of isolation and enforced routine with the violent mood swings of "Paranoid Android" and Thom Yorke's arcing vocal anguish in the gaunt, yearning ballads "Let Down" and "Lucky." Somehow, OK Computer went platinum a year after its release — a welcome testament that smart still sells.
Highly recommended if you like Radiohead!

So many great vinyl releases of 20 and 25 year anniversaries of many of my favorite albums, such a great time to be an audiophile!

Fantastic album. I bought the high res download from Radiohead’s site

Yep, I was lucky enough to score an original UK pressing a few years ago still wrapped and unopened. It sounds amazing, perfectly flat and quiet vinyl as well. Maybe not the last word in "audiophile" sound quality but a great democratic album for more recent music.

the 24/96 remaster is also great, listening now to Let Down, great "bubble" of sound

Couldn't agree more. My all-time favorite album of the nineties and easily in my top 10 all-time. I ordered copies of the UK pressings and they sound amazing. I have heard some of the U.S. pressings are noisy and not so good so I feel happy to have scored good copies. I will probably buy the 24/96 digital version at some point as well.
