ATLANTA, GA (July 20, 2015) – GIK Acoustics has announced their latest product offering: the GIK Acoustics Evolution PolyFusor© – a curved panel that smoothly transitions from a low-frequency bass trap to a mid- to upper-frequency diffusor.

The GIK Acoustics Evolution PolyFusor© is a combination of a polycylindrical diffusor and an absorber merged into a single unit. Polycylindrical diffusors, or polyfusors, are known for their excellent dispersion characteristics over a very wide range. The curved front plate allows for virtually perfect spatial diffusion, while letting lower frequency waves pass through to the cavity of absorption behind.

The Evolution PolyFusor© is best used in multiples to keep the sound spread evenly throughout the room, and to help with low frequency build up and standing waves. The Evolution PolyFusor© is a great addition to a room where wide band dispersion is needed, especially as an addition to deep corner bass traps and other absorbers.

Thanks guys. I need to get some other pictures, but they look super cool straddling corners also. ;) In fact they fit right in front of Tri Traps, which gives you some pretty awesome bass control, below 50hz and the beauty of diffusion.

These look great, much less intrusive looking than the QRDs, and better priced as well!

General question... Will these work as well behind dipoles as the QRDs? Differences?

I have a pair of Maggie's about four to five feet out from FW and two feet or so from SW. Would you recommend these new Polyfusors behind the Maggie's? Or should I look into the Q7Ds? On the SW, would you recommend the Polyfusors, 242s or QRDs?

Sorry to be too specific on this forum, but hopefully your answers can apply to countless dipole owners.

One other thing, can you put an art panel on the Polyfusors?

Never thought about putting art on the poly, but see no reason why not. Send me a email and I will have Christina work up pricing for you. You would need to make sure the art is proportionally like the panel. A picture that is square would obviously NOT work!! ha ha ha.

As far as working behind dipoles, YES! In fact it will work better as it will throw ALL of the sound left and right which will help help with cancellations off the wall and also help absorb low end.

Wow thanks. Just to clarify , should I (and more importantly for an open forum, would others with Dipoles) get a pair for behind AND a pair to the side at first reflection points too? Or would 242s (absorbers) be better for the side?

These new poly's look awesome.

Really is personal preference on the side panels. With the 242 it is going to absorb which will make for better imaging (actually pin pointing it) vs the the poly that will make it sound a bit wider. For the front wall though you totally want to use the poly.
