ehoove finally gets a modern Turntable
2 Attachment(s)
After much thought and research, I finally bought a modern turntable. My affinity to German tables continues, so with out further ado here we go:
Presenting my Clearaudio Solution Turntable, that has been upgraded to the Master Solution Status. Added were the following: -Clearaudio Reference motor -CMB ceramic magnetic bearing upgrade -upgrade to thicker 38mm platter -upgrade to Clearaudio Quadro clamp -upgraded original plastic armboard to aluminum -upgraded original plastic feet to clearaudio stainless steel spikes -upgraded spike-protectors to Black Diamond Racing Pits MkIII -upgraded pulley The table sports a Graham Robin Arm and a New Dynavector DV20x2 MC. it will support a second arm which will be my Jelco750/AT33 Mono Ltd. Edition. Early observations: Amazing attack and sustain with crystal clear smooth top end. Bass is solid and accurate with lot's of warmth and emotion. Midrange is silky smooth and deep with amazing detail. Presentation is refined and exhilarating at the same time. Just Wonderful!! Needless to say my afternoon will be spent dialing it in and having a ball! Regards, Jim http://www.audioaficionado.org/attac...e-dscn5653.jpg http://www.audioaficionado.org/attac...e-dscn5651.jpg |
Jim.......Your new upgraded Clearaudio Solution Turntable looks very nice. With the Graham Robin Arm and a New Dynavector DV20x2 moving coil cartridge you are set up nicely. That's a great looking turntable.

Jim,
You have a real keeper there. I have a ClearAudio (albeit rather older) and it does all you say. Swapping arms is so easy as well. Kick back and rediscover your LPs! Best Peter |
I plan on moving my Jelco750D/AT33Mono Ltd. Edition combo to this table as a second arm, and move on some of my Vintage Thorens tables. This has been a real eye opener for me, as my modified Thorens tables sound wonderful, they cannot compare to this table. Very Impressive. ehoove's Main Rig Moves up several notches with this acquisition !!

That is a very nice turntable set up you've got there. Congratulations!

I know that the first order of business is to get something more substantial under it. I'm going to the local Marble outlet in the morning and see if there is a nice piece big enough to accommodate it.
Regards, Jim |
Jim - consider a thick John Boos & Company maple butcherblock.
