Stillpoints & TAD R1's

I spent well over an hour on the phone today with Stillpoints head of Marketing. He explained in great detail how these work their magic; basically enabling your speaker to play as if it is suspended in mid-air.

The next most beneficial place to use them is amplifiers, power conditioners, sources, and pre-amps. Better results have been reported with SS equipment, rather than tubes which I also found very interesting.

In any case, I was ready to commit before all that based on reviews read, and first hand endorsements from those I trust.

I will be using the Ultra SS on both pairs of my TAD R1's.

Can't wait to hear about the results! Also interesting to hear they recommend starting with the speakers and working high current to low current.

I can definitely recommend them. Great performance and personal service. Bruce Jacobs himself installed the ESS racks.

Ivan, I'm curious -- why the Ultra SS instead of the Ultra 5?

Simple, Ultra 5's are too wide and would stick out from under the base.

Ah, the aesthetics win!

I am a stillpoints fan big time. Use ultra 5s, ultra ss, and LPi - would not be without them so transformative they have been in my system.

+1. All ultra 5 under my entire system and speakers except both P10 power regenerators from PS Audio which have ultra SS.

Insane improvements which literally transformed my system to where I would never be without them.
