Degirtter record cleaner

Degritter - Yet another lower cost automated record cleaner.

Someone - on a forum whose initials are WBF - who went through the beta program speaks quite favorably of it. Looks a bit like a toaster.

These lower cost solutions would give consumers a variety of choice and options. Looks better than the Kirmus imo.

The Degritter is an interesting looking record cleaning machine. I like the compact dimensions, low noise level, and the water filter.

Anyone know the price and warranty period?

interesting, available just in time for Christmas !

That looks nice, I really dig the styling on that. Also +1 for them going with 7"/10" adapters instead of making a gigantic machine like the Kirmuss.

I agree, the more options out there, the better. With ultrasonics getting lower in prices, I wonder if we will see sales of the manual RCMs slowing down. I know many insist a manual cleaning can remove dirt an ultrasonic can't, but I haven't touched my Okki Nokki since I got a KLaudio.

Dan,
I believe MSRP will be $3100 USD. Unit is made in Estonia so not sure about warranty period

Kevin.......Thanks. I was hoping to see a retail price under $2,500.00.

IIRC, the early adopter price was in the low $2000s. I would not be surprised if regular production price exceeds $3000 given the cost of the competition

No matter how you look at good RCM’s are expensive.

True, but if you're willing to do a bit of the "work" you can do pretty well for far less. I have a 6L UltraSonic cleaning tank, with a CleanerVinyl device to spin the record while cleaning in a 40C Distilled Water and TergiKleen solution. Once cleaned in this for 15 minutes I vacuum them dry using a Record Doctor V. You can buy all of this and set it up to use for under $600 and it all works really well. I've rescued several of my older albums that I thought were "Done For" - they now play very quietly (with exception of a couple of scratches that cannot be fixed via cleaning). Yes, its a "manual" operation that takes a bit of work, but the results are well worth it :-)
