A/V Stand
 

I'm thinking about doing some rearranging here soon. Currently all my equipment is in another room from where I sit. This is nice as it makes a "clean" viewing area. However, I want to get the Mac gear and a few other components out in my main room. Some of the "lesser" gear will remain in the other room.

To do this I will need a new stand. I'm thinking something along the lines of this. (Excuse my poor diagram)

Any suggestions? I don't really want to spend an arm and a leg.:no: I'm already down to one arm & leg. Can't spare the other ones.

Unfortunately, my 20 amp dedicated circuits are in the aforementioned other room. I would need an electrician to rewire them into my main room.

Waboman......this is a very nice rack that belongs to Lyle......I believe he had someone made it for him. It is a beauty :drool:

Triple wide racks are going to more expensive unless you go modular. Double wide 3 shelves high will be less. Most of the racks made are not made to hold 100lbs. plus McAmps.

Low end price wise VTI or Lovan.

Billy Bags, Sound Anchors or Timbernation will build to specs.

I really like the Adona racks and you can build them up in just about any iteration. Here are a couple of pics. THe do have a series above this that look even better.

The get plenty of air to your equipment and you have some colors choices too.

+1 on the Adona, easy access, open air, and very well built - all for a reasonable price.

Another option would be the triple racks by Salamander, lots of finish options, solid build. I use a Synergy Twin 30. Be aware though, with most any rack out there you'll probably want to have an open back design as the Mac amps are pretty deep. I had gotten an extended depth back panel, but a few months got so fed up with not having access to the back of the rack and all my wiring I ended up taking the back panel off completely.

'cisco.......I like the Core Audio Design Mod 4 Rack. That is a nice design.

Dan....that is one heavy rack too...the Shelves are filled with lead, granite, and iron to create a low resonant core. That shipping to Hawaii would be ridiculous...about the weight of a Mac amp :sigh: These guys are located in the Bay Area too :sigh:

I might use their design, less the shelving material for a quote at Timbernation :scratch2:
