In preparation for my move next month into a new media room, I have purchased new electrical outlets to be installed by my electrician when I get (3) dedicated 20 amp lines installed very soon.

I have been using FIM 880 outlets in my system for about 5 years now without complaint. I just decided to give the Furutech product a shot.

Anybody else use this outlet??

I bought (2) gold and (1) rhodium plated outlets. Will mix and match the sound across my components. From what I gather, the gold is more organic, warmer per se, while the Rho is quicker, higher resolving type sound.

Jason... I use them in all my reference systems; I much prefer the Rhodium.

Cool. Glad to know I'm not only one here that took the plunge. I will experiment gold v rho. The fact that you use them in your reference systems means I made a wise decision trying Furutech. I pray that it doesn't mushroom into a bevy of Flux50s or so says my wallet.

Did you get the Furutech outlet frame as well?

Friday, I installed 3 Furutech GTX-D Rhodium. Mine were cooked, but I am still breaking them in.

I have both the rhodium and gold but currently I only use the gold. Rhodium was bright in my system. Not more detailed, just tipped up. Gold was more balanced for me.

I couldn't believe an outlet could alter the sound like that.

Not just an outlet; a $500 outlet. ;)

I did not. Wanted to start with basic outlet, should be biggest bang for buck. Will get accustomed to sound of this outlet and add the wall plate and cover at a later date, maybe, unless reason takes hold of me. ;)

That's the advice my dealer gave me too. Gold is workhorse and try the rhodium to see if it benefits a certain component. Having 3 lines, I have an extra to burn at the moment.

You have no idea the benefit my $35 lamp from Target has derived.
Less flicker, more consistent glow, and an overall more organic light source, now.
